DESCRIPTION:Nick Garrett-Powell is a performer and recording artist from Southern Oregon. An accomplished multi-instrumentalist\, singer-songwriter and recording engineer\, his philosophy is that “life is too short for one style of music.” \n​From a musical family\, Nick was taught to sing and play the piano and guitar by his parents\, Jim and Susan\, and his grandfather Bob Garrett\, with his aunt Bonnie another musical influence. \n​At 16\, he began studying under Paul Hendershott and Randy Mackay\, and by 18 he was sure he’d be a career musician and recording artist. \n​Beginning with the jazz choir and vocal groups in highschool\, Nick pursued academic music as a vocalist for 4 years. A student of classical voice\, piano and guitar at Southern Oregon University for two years\, Nick changed gears and got a degree in audio engineering from Musicians Institute in Hollywood\, California\, where he would reside and work in the audio and film industries before returning to Oregon as a freelance music worker and artist. \n​Performing onstage with acoustic guitars since the year 2000\, Nick found himself playing unaccompanied most of the time\, prompting him to begin developing his alternative style in an attempt to sound bigger than one instrument and voice. By 2002\, playing “slap bass” style on the acoustic guitar had become his calling card\, studying VHS tapes of Victor Wooten\, Michael Manring\, Billy Sheehan and others. Having seen a Chapman Stick performer in 2001\, the touchstyle method became the next focus when he discovered the work of Stanley Jordan. In the year 2006\, he watched his recording instructor TJ Helmerich demonstrate a technique called 8-finger tapping\, and Nick began working on his own touchstyle approach\, which ultimately led to many of his own innovations and inventions. \n​As a member of the guitar duo The Fret Drifters since 2011\, Nick has appeared on the eponymous debut album The Fret Drifters and the single Gatekeepers\, as well as performing innumerable gigs touring the Pacific Northwest of the United States and in South Eastern Australia\, headlining music festivals and concerts and also performing as an opening act for such luminaries as Tommy Emmanuel\, Eric Johnson\, Black Violin\, Michael Franti & Spearhead\, Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo\, The Little River Band\, Firefall\, Orleans\, Jeff Achison\, Jeff Pevar\, Claude Haye\, Lachey Doley\, Rick Springfield\, Janeane Garofalo and many more. \n​A prolific performer\, audio engineer\, and artist\, Nick is also an educator and inventor.

DESCRIPTION:Come join us for a great evening of wine and song with Jeff Kloetzel. \nSinger-songwriter/cover artist Jeff Kloetzel performs over 140 shows each year. His diverse catalog runs the gamut from driving modern tunes to subtle timeless ballads. His original songs are fueled by his rhythmic guitar work and soulful vocals. Influenced by many musical genres including pop\, rock\, folk\, blues and contemporary island\, there should be something for everyone in Jeff’s set list. You can also catch Jeff with his full band “Jeff K & OverTones”. \nIn 2020\, 2018 and 2014\, Jeff won the top award for “Best Musician/Singer” in the Sneak Preview’s Rogue Valley poll (and placed in the top 5 every year since2013)\, and in 2012 he won the first Southern Oregon Rising Stars competition hosted by South Stage Cellars and The Britt Festival. He just released his newest CD “Long Time Coming” at the very end of 2014. \nKloetzel has strummed guitar strings from a young age. A self-taught player from a musical family\, he played with many artists in Hawai’i including Johnny Helm\, Bruce and Jake Shimabukuro\, and John Cruz . His recorded work and compositions can be found on many CD’s with a variety of artists and on his own indie label. Jeff has performed around the USA and in Japan (touring with renowned ukulele magician Jake Shimabukuro). He’s also had the good fortune to have been a member of bands opening shows for the likes of Jackson Browne\, Gregg Allman\, Jack Johnson\, Gavin DeGraw and Aimee Mann. Since moving to Oregon\, Jeff has been the local opening act at the renowned Britt Festival for acts like 70’s supergroup America\, Natalie Merchant\, Boz Scaggs\, Jake Shimabukuro\, Matt Nathanson and Leo Kottke. \n

DESCRIPTION:Emily Turner is a singer\, song writer\, and multi-instrumentalist based out of Applegate\, Oregon. Spanning across genres from Americana\, folk\, indie\, jazz\, reggae and funk\, her broad experience infuses a wide array of feels into her compositions. Her instrument of choice is upright bass\, which she performs in different projects with\, but she also performs solo using just her voice and both Baritone and Tenor ukulele. \nEmily has performed in several Oregonian projects\, including Free Creatures\, Verbs & Nouns\, The Alphadelics\, Mad Woodsy\, and Turner Moore Band. She also continually fosters other special collaborations across the Pacific Northwest\, and internationally. \nEmily was raised in Anchorage Alaska\, and though she played cornet in band while in middle school\, she did not pick up the upright bass until later in life\, while living in Ashland\, Oregon attending university for Environmental Studies. She is self taught in all regards- bass\, ukulele\, singing\, looping\, and song writing\, though she continually pushes herself to new heights through enjoying collaboration and developing her performances.
